How To Reduce and Overcome the Pain and Impact Of Depression, Stress And Anxiety

There is no way to avoid it, stress is simply a part of life. Unfortunately it is an evil that we just simply can't seem to avoid and if anyone ever tells you that they have no stress in their life then they are lying both to you and to themselves. However, as present as it is in our lives it is also something that can be controlled so that we don't allow the stress to end up harming our health and emotional well being. Because if we allow stress to control us then it could lead tom any medical problems as well as depression. So you need to be able to find ways in which you can deal with and over come this common thing in your life.

The first thing you need to be able to do is to know how to recognize the different symptoms of both stress and the depression that might come with it. When you know the symptoms it can make it easier for you to understand what you are really feeling. If you feel anxious, tired, irritable and even frustration then you should know that you are under some stress. Stress is a natural reaction to the stressors in our lives, if you have far too much of it, it could lead you to a state of depression. With this may come feelings of being worthless, lack of concentration, no pleasure in doing activities you use to love to do, change in eating habits or your sleeping habits even to thoughts of suicide. All of these are signs of severe depression.

Don't be afraid of asking for help. If you are under a lot of stress it's important to understand how easily this can lead to depression especially if you don't get some sort of help. If for instance you are overwhelmed with things at work or at home you need to recruit someone else to help you feel like you are not alone. Try and get in touch with a friend or another family member that you can sit down and talk to so that you have someone who is willing to just listen to your side of the story.

It's important that you prioritize the things in your life. Understand that not everything is of high priority and you need to let go of that idea. You should take some time and make out a schedule where you define the things that are most important and then make sure the rest of it is realistic and not something that forces you to feel like you have to do everything. You should only feel obligated to complete things that really are essential to both your work and your life. Otherwise take it easy and just do what you can.

Don't jump on yourself or beat yourself up if you are having a hard time coping with all of the stress. If you feel like you can't handle it all then maybe you can't, but so what? It's not the end of the world. Take a walk, take a bubble bath or get a massage and let yourself feel better about things instead of feeling like it's the end of the world if it all doesn't get done. Life goes on with or with out you completing everything.

If it does get to a point to where you really don't think you can handle it and no one around you seems to be able to offer support, then might want to consider a professional. There is no need to feel afraid or ashamed to seek professional help. Getting counseling might be just what you need. They will know whether or not simply therapy will do or if there are some underlying medical issues that might be causing the problems and if so they will be able to treat you with medication.

Note: Understand that sometimes depression is actually caused from a chemical imbalance in the brain and this could mean that a professional could help you out with prescription treatment.
