They don't expect you to pay them for putting ads and links on your website. Another thing, don't get involved with links that you don't believe in or seem to be a little on the shady side. You don't want to be promoting products or services that might be suspect. This could be someone trying to use you and your site as a front for something that might be a little risky or even illegal. In case you don't know what Clickbank is, it's a database that holds literally thousands of different kinds of digital products that are sold by different Clickbank publishers. These publishers will then rely upon the work done by affiliate marketers. The affiliates promote the products and then if a successful sale occurs they will receive a certain amount of commission from the sale of the different products. Here are a few ideas on how to promote these products for you to be successful with your affiliate venture.

The first thing you need to do and the simplest thing is to decide which Clickbank product or products you want to promote. You can do this by going to what is called the Clickbank Marketplace and then choose the items that you think might be of interest to your visitors.

You will then click the button under the product that says “create hoplink” this is what will create your affiliate link that you will need when you start promoting the product. Once you have this you should start creating a list of keywords by using a keyword tool like WordTracker or Google Adwords Keyword Tool. These will help you do research on favorite keywords and key phrases.

Once you have your list of keywords you should choose the best two to four words off of this list and then you can start writing a series of five to ten short articles that are about 400 to 500 words in length. These articles should be based upon the keywords that you have chosen. The articles can be informative, very serious or they can even be humorous. You can also promote your products by using social sites, blogs and forums as long as you do so tastefully and tactfully. You can join a variety of different social sites and create profiles for each one and then include all of your important information with hoplinks in that information so that people will see it whenever they check your profile.

You can then send out bulletins out to all of your friends and let them know about your social network and take that opportunity to include your affiliate link and write a short piece about the product that you are promoting. It can either be a review or a testimonial whichever serves your purpose better.

With forums you should never put any of your affiliate links within your post but wait to do so when you put in your signature. It's OK and acceptable with most forums for a person to have a link within their signature, but only there.

Note: There might be some sites that won't let you put your affiliate link in your bio box or info section so you might want to make sure that you have your own site that has its own domain name and then when they click on that you will be able to present them with links to your affiliate products.
